Carved and painted by hand by a sculptor working in Mozambique. Each figure is a diver coming back up with the catch, holding either a fish or a lobster, a scene repeated along this coastline every day that the sea allows it.
Expression, stance, colour and cut differ from one figure to the next. That variation is the work rather than a tolerance in it, and no two are the same.
