Handwoven by the Baule people of Côte d'Ivoire and originally made as everyday cloth. Each textile is a vintage piece, selected individually by Sussurro for its character, craftsmanship and condition.

The patterns are intricate and the texture rich, and the cloth was built to last, which is why it is still here. Colour, weave, wear and repair differ from piece to piece, and the marks of use are part of what the textile is. One of one.

Do not machine wash. Air the cloth rather than cleaning it, and take anything beyond that to a textile conservator. Keep it out of direct sun, which fades old dye faster than use does. Existing repairs are part of the piece and are best left alone.

Cloths of this kind are usually between 20 and 50 years old, and often more. Most of them were woven between the mid-20th century and the late 1970s or 1980s, when they were made to be utilised.
No two are the same. The selection changes as pieces are found, and is shown on request.
